Metro53 - Barcelona (Web Desk) The funeral prayer of Nauman Qaiser, a well-known Spanish social figure and businessman allegedly killed by police in Pakistan, was held in Barcelona.

The Punjab Counter Crime Department (CCD) has denied any involvement in Qaiser’s killing. In Pakistan, 109 cases had been filed against him, while Spanish courts had acquitted him honorably. He had returned to Pakistan on bail to prove his innocence but was arrested despite having valid bail.

Family sources revealed that he was pressured to withdraw his bail under threat of being killed. After giving in to the pressure, he reappeared in court, and eight months later, bail was granted again. Despite this, he was re-arrested under Article 440 and later implicated in further fabricated cases.

Two alleged 302 cases were filed against him while he was abroad in Spain and imprisoned for another case. The High Court took strict notice, directing authorities to refrain from filing false cases or taking illegal action against him and to ensure his protection.

Despite these court orders, Qaiser was illegally detained again on February 1, 2026, and on February 11, during the holy month of Ramadan, he was allegedly killed in a CCD encounter.

The Punjab CCD stated that it had no connection to Qaiser’s death and that he had only been under investigation in a specific case, for which he had already been granted bail.
