Metro53 - Gujrat (Web Desk): An alleged assault incident has surfaced in a house located on Shadiwal Road in the Lari Adda police station area, where a woman was reportedly abused. It is alleged that she was given an intoxicating substance in a bottle, after which her brother-in-law and nephew assaulted her.
Upon receiving information about the incident, the DPO took immediate notice and issued orders to the SP Investigation to conduct an inquiry. During the initial inquiry, it was revealed that the accused, Zeen and Bilal, are close relatives.
According to reports, on March 25, 2026, both parties made multiple calls against each other to the Emergency Helpline 15, upon which the concerned SHO and first responders promptly reached the scene and collected evidence.
Furthermore, both parties also contacted the 1787 helpline and appeared before the RPO in an open court to present their stance.
On the instructions of the RPO, the SP Investigation Gujrat and DSP City have been directed to carry out a complete and transparent inquiry into the incident. The DPO has emphasized that merit must be ensured and a detailed report should be submitted within one day.
