During the meeting, a comprehensive strategy regarding district-wide security, traffic management, women’s protection, and crime prevention was finalized to ensure a peaceful and secure environment

Participation of Officers and Administrative Review

The meeting was attended by officers from various police departments. The SP Investigation, SDPOs, and SHOs participated via video link, while the DSP Investigation, Safe City, Elite Force, and in-charges of other branches were also present. A detailed review was conducted of potential security challenges during Ramadan, public rush, congregational prayers, and market conditions.

Foolproof Security at Worship Places and Markets

According to police officials, foolproof security arrangements will be ensured at all mosques, imambargahs, Ramadan facilitation bazaars, markets, and major commercial centers. Special patrolling and deployment of additional personnel will be carried out during Taraweeh prayers, iftar, and sehri timings to deal promptly with any untoward incident.

Women’s Protection and Crime Prevention

The meeting emphasized special measures to prevent harassment of women. Effective deployment of lady police officers will be ensured at markets and public places, while cycle squads will continue regular patrolling. It was also decided to further intensify search operations, picketing, and snap checking against criminal elements, proclaimed offenders, and suspicious individuals.

Traffic Management Plan Implemented

In view of increased rush during Ramadan, a special traffic management plan has also been formulated. Additional traffic wardens will be deployed on major roads and in busy markets to ensure smooth traffic flow, while indiscriminate action will be taken against illegal parking to facilitate citizens.

Strict Instructions to Officers

The DPO issued clear instructions that any negligence or carelessness in the performance of duties will not be tolerated. All officers and personnel were directed to maintain a courteous and professional attitude with the public and ensure prompt resolution of public complaints. He emphasized that law and order in district Jhelum will be maintained at all costs during Ramadan, and all available resources will be utilized to protect the life and property of citizens.

According to DPO Tariq Aziz Sandhu, providing a safe and peaceful environment for citizens—especially women and senior citizens—during the blessed month of Ramadan is the top priority of the district police, and no negligence in this regard will be tolerated.
