Metro53 - Jhelum (Web Desk): A comprehensive and well-organized cleanliness operation is underway across Jhelum as part of the district administration’s efforts to transform the city into a clean, green, and model urban center.
On the special directives of Deputy Commissioner Jhelum Mir Raza Ozgan, daily sanitation activities are being carried out throughout the district under the Rawalpindi Waste Management Company (RWMC). The operation involves the use of modern machinery and trained staff to ensure effective and sustainable cleanliness.
According to the administration, mechanical sweeping and mechanical washing are being conducted regularly on major roads, markets, and key arteries of the city to eliminate dust and waste. Alongside this, the door-to-door garbage collection system has been further strengthened, with RWMC teams collecting waste directly from residential areas.
In line with the vision of Deputy Commissioner Mir Raza Ozgan, the cleanliness campaign has not been limited to urban areas alone. Special attention is also being given to the cleaning of graveyards, parks, vacant plots, and drains. Field teams have been directed to permanently remove garbage heaps from streets and neighborhoods to provide citizens with a healthy and safe environment.
To ensure effective implementation, daily monitoring of the sanitation system is also underway. Officers are conducting field visits to review cleanliness efforts, and immediate action is being taken in case of any negligence. The use of modern machinery has not only improved the quality of sanitation but has also helped save time and resources.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Mir Raza Ozgan emphasized that providing a clean environment to citizens is the top priority of the district administration. He issued strict instructions to RWMC staff, stating that any negligence or carelessness in sanitation duties will not be tolerated. He added that all available resources are being utilized to make Jhelum a model city.
The Deputy Commissioner also appealed to citizens to cooperate with the administration by disposing of waste in designated bins instead of throwing it on roads, streets, or into drains. He stressed that achieving cleanliness goals is not possible without public cooperation and that every citizen must take responsibility.
Residents have welcomed the grand sanitation operation and expressed hope that these measures will help Jhelum emerge as a clean, healthy, and beautiful city.
