Metro53 - GUJRAT (Web Desk) – Gujrat police have successfully traced and arrested suspects involved in a recent armed robbery, including two serving police constables and a woman. The suspects reportedly snatched PKR 10,000 in cash from Naveed Ahmed, a resident of Gorali, at gunpoint.
Under the leadership of SHO Larri Adda Inspector Fawad Saleem, a special police operation led to the arrests of Constable Zohaib Riaz, Constable Rifaqat Ali, and female suspect Zainab alias Zaini. Authorities also recovered the stolen cash and illegal firearms used in the crime, with separate cases filed regarding the weapons. Investigations are ongoing.
DPO Gujrat Rana Umar Farooq took serious notice of the incident, stating, “The law is equal for all. Those who exploit their position to rob citizens will receive no leniency. These individuals will face the same strict action as any other criminal, and accountability within the Gujrat Police will continue.”
He added, “The dignity of our police force and public trust are our top priorities. No one is above the law. Gujrat Police remain committed to protecting citizens and will take indiscriminate action against corrupt elements within the department.”
