Metro53 - Islamabad (Web Desk): The cousin of the Inspector General (IG) of Islamabad was also martyred in the blast.
While speaking to the media alongside the IG Islamabad, Allama Basharat Hussain Imami confirmed that the martyrs included the IG’s cousin.
It is pertinent to mention that a suicide blast occurred during Friday prayers in the Tarlai area of Islamabad, resulting in the martyrdom of 31 people and injuries to several others.
According to police, the explosion took place at Masjid Khadijat-ul-Kubra during Friday prayers. The suicide bomber detonated himself after being stopped from entering the mosque.
Eyewitnesses reported hearing gunshots before the blast.
Following the explosion, police, army troops, and Rangers cordoned off the area. All injured individuals were shifted to PIMS and Polyclinic hospitals, where an emergency was imposed.
