Metro53 - Lucknow (Web Desk): In a tragic incident in the Indian city of Lucknow, two sisters were found dead at their residence, with police suspecting suicide linked to prolonged mental stress following the illness of their pet dog.
According to Indian media reports, the incident took place in the Duda Kheda Jalalpur area. The deceased were identified as 26-year-old Radha Singh and her 22-year-old sister Jiya Singh, who had been raising a pet dog together.
Police stated that information was received from the hospital regarding the deaths of the two sisters, after which an investigation was launched and family members were questioned.
During the investigation, police learned that the sisters had recently adopted a dog and had developed a deep emotional attachment to it. Both sisters were actively involved in taking care of the animal.
Family members told police that both sisters had been suffering from mental stress for a long time. One sister had reportedly developed depression due to tuberculosis, while the other had been experiencing mental stress since 2014.
According to the family, the dog had been ill for about a month, which further worsened the sisters’ mental condition. They believe this contributed to the sisters taking the extreme step. Police say investigations are ongoing and all aspects of the case are being examined.
