Metro53 - GUJRAT: Special Assistant to the Chief Minister of Punjab, Salma Butt, addressed representatives of traders' organizations during her visit to the Gujrat Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Monday.
According to details, Salma Butt reviewed various initiatives related to public welfare, ease of doing business, women's protection and the improvement of civic facilities during her visit to the chamber. Discussions were also held on public service delivery and governance reforms being implemented under the vision of Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
Addressing the gathering, she said that the Punjab government had successfully expanded public transportation services across the province and that 1,100 green buses were currently operating in different districts. She added that residents of Gujrat would soon benefit from the Green Bus Service as well.
Highlighting the provincial government's initiatives for women's empowerment and protection, Salma Butt stated that Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz had demonstrated the important role women can play in leadership and governance. She further remarked that strict measures against harassment had strengthened women's sense of security and that the protection of women remained a top priority of the Punjab government.
The meeting also provided an opportunity for traders and business leaders to discuss local development issues and share suggestions aimed at improving economic activity and public services in the district.
