Metro53 - GUJRAT: An 11-year-old girl, Iqra, who had gone missing from the jurisdiction of Saddar Lalamusa Police Station a few days ago, has been recovered safely and reunited with her mother, police said on Monday.
According to officials, the child left her home on June 4 and subsequently went missing under mysterious circumstances, prompting her family to seek police assistance. Following the report, a case was registered and a search operation was launched immediately.
On the directives of the District Police Officer (DPO) Gujrat, special investigation teams were constituted to trace the missing girl. Police utilized Safe City surveillance cameras, modern technology and other investigative resources to track her whereabouts.
During the course of the investigation, authorities discovered that Iqra was present with her father near Area Gate in Gujrat. She was taken into protective custody and, after completion of legal formalities, was handed over safely to her mother.
Preliminary findings suggested that the child had left home out of fear after being scolded by her mother.
Police further stated that the girl's mother had remarried following her first marriage. After reviewing all aspects of the case, authorities ensured the child's safety before concluding the operation.
The DPO Gujrat said that the protection and safe recovery of children remained among the top priorities of Gujrat Police, adding that prompt action is taken in such cases to ensure the well-being of minors.
